Chouhan's petition quashed

Jabalpur, Aug 31 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today quashed a petition by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan seeking to quash a petition, which sought to set aside his election from Budhni assembly constituency.

Hearing the petition objecting to the petition filed by defeated Congress candidate Rajkumar Patel, as it was not filed within the time limit, Justice A K Saxena dismissed the petition.

Mr Patel had filed a petition alleging misuse of government machinery and violation of the model code of conduct during Budhni bypoll.

The petition had claimed that Mr Chouhan headed state boards and corporations, besides holding the post of Chief Minister and as such his nomination for the by-election was invalid.
