Arrested Pak terrorist makes confession

Basirhat, Aug 31 (UNI) Arrested Pak terrorist Md Juber alias Md Billal today made his confession statement before First Class Judicial Magistrate Rajesh Guha Ray under section 164 CrPC here at the subdivisional court.

The statement would later be placed before the court when required.

Juber's confession was recorded for about three hours at a stretch, official sources said.

However, such statement from Juber's co-accused Sohel Afjal, who was also arrested from Sahebkhali area under Hingalganj after being apprehended by the BSF on August 14 evening, could not be taken today due to unavoidable circumstances and is expected to be taken tomorrow.

Thus granting of transit remand to take both accused to Maharashtra might be considered on a later date, while a four-member Maharashtra police team would seek their transit remand from the court.

Both accused were brought to the court from Dum Dum Central jail this morning amidst tight security and weste sent back to Dum Dum this evening.
