3 villages vacated due to dam breach
Raisen, MP, Aug 31 (UNI) Residents of three villages in Raisen district have been evacuated as seepage from a breach on the embankment of Piplai dam continued, officials said today.
As efforts to plug the breach did not succeed, authorities were engaged in digging a canal to divert water into the Richhan river.
The dam was constructed in 1998 at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore. The affected people have been shifted to camps.
