100-year-old Panchaloha idol stolen

Chittoor, Aug 31 (UNI) A 100-year-old panchaloha idol of Venugopalaswamy was stolen from the house of a temple priest at V Kota mandalam in Chittoor District this evening.

Police said the robbers sneaked into the priest Gopalaswami's house and decamped with 100-year-old panchaloha idol.

The idol, which value around Rs 20 lakh, was shifted from the Venugopalaswamy temple to the priest's house six years back because of the temple's dilapidated condition, police added.
