Kawas flood victims shout slogans against Raje
Barmer, Aug 30: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje faced slogan shouting villagers in Kawas on her visit to this flood-ravaged district.
The Chief Minister reviewed the relief work and held a meeting with district officials at Uttarlai Air Force base before flying to Kawas by helicopter.
According to eyewitness claims, about 250-300 villagers who wanted to meet the Chief Minister shouted slogans against her and complained about scarcity of drinking water.
She assured the villagers that more officials will be deputed to speed up the relief work and left for Jaipur soon after.
Earlier, Mrs Raje undertook an aerial survey of Malwa village.
Mrs Raje's sudden visit to the flood-hit Barmer is supposed to be in anticipation of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's visit to Barmer tomorrow.
