ECoR divert,cancel trains as cracks appear on railway bridge

Bhubaneswar, Aug 30 (UNI) A crack on a railway bridge between Dungrupali and Khaliapalli stations in Sambalpur division today forced the East Coast Railways(ECoR) to divert, short terminate and cancel several trains.

ECoR officials said the Allepy-Dhanbad Express was diverted from Singapur Road to via Titalagarh, Raipur, Jharsuguda, the Dhanbad-Alley Express train via Sambalpur, Angul, Barang, Khurda Road, Vijaya Nagaram and Puri-Ahmedabad train via Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Raipur.

Similarly the Bhubaneswar-Raipur will be diverted via Jharsuguda, Bilaspur while the Raipur-Bhubaneswar Express train will be diverted via Palasa, Titalagarh, Singapur Road and Vijaya Nagaram.

The ECoR has short terminated Koraput-Howrah Express at Titalagarh from where it would return to Koraput. The Howrah-Koraput Express now controlled at Dungurupali will return to Howrah. The Raipur-Sambalpur Express train will be short terminated at Bolangir.

The Sambalpur-Raipur Express leaving Sambalpur tomorow now stood cancelled. So also the Kantabanji-Jharsuguda passenger train leaving Kantabaji on August 31 will be cancelled.

Railway sources said the engineers had left for the spot to undertake the repairing work adding that train services on the division would resume only after the bridge declared fit.
