Annan to urge Israel to lift Lebanon blockade

Jerusalem, Aug 30: UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan today said he would urge Israel to lift its air and sea blockade of Lebanon and added that a ceasefire between the Jewish state and Hizbollah was still fragile.

Annan, speaking after meeting Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz, said Israel had committed most of the violations of the two-week-old truce.
