Nikkei opens flat as Pioneer falls, Honda gains

Tokyo, Aug 28: The Nikkei share average was little changed on Monday, rising 0.09 percent as losses by some high-tech stocks such Pioneer Corp. were offset by advances by Honda Motor Co. Ltd., which found support on the weaker yen.

The Nikkei was up 31.65 points at 15,976.31 as of 0008 GMT.

The broader TOPIX index was up 0.18 percent at 1,622.76.
