Medicos withdraw ceasework in OPD

Kolkata, Aug 28: Junior doctors in Kolkata medical college and hospital today withdrew their ceasework ending a two-day disruption in medical service in the outdoor department.

Announcing the decision, a spokesman of the medicos said all the junior docotrs had joined normal duty today.

The medicos were agitating under the banner of 'Youth for Equality' against the Centre's decision to increase OBC quota in premier educational institutions.

However, they would decide on a proposal to go for a relay hunger strike to continue with the anti-quota agitation, the spokesman said.
