Manmohan Singh arrives on a two-day visit to Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Aug 28: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here today on a two-day visit to inaugurate the Talcher Super Thermal Power Station at Kaniha and visit the flood affected areas of the state.
Orissa Governor Rameswar Thakur, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Leader of Opposition in Orissa Assembly J B Pattnaik were among others who recieved him at the Biju Patnaik Airport.
The Prime Minister's schedule to fly to Kaniha in Talcher to dedicate the 3000 MW Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, the country's largest power house to the nation, which was delayed due to inclement weather and heavy rains in the state.
Mr Singh would make an aerial survey of the flood affected areas of Coastal Orissa on his return to Raj Bhawan. He would visit the Institute of Physics in the afternoon where he would announce the setting up of National Institute of Science(NIS), Bhubaneswar.
He would visit Bolangir and Koraput tomorrow morning to review KBK programmes and return to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon from where he would fly back to New Delhi.
