K'taka to consider revoking ban order
Bangalore, Aug 28: The Karnataka Government will consider revoking the previous government's order banning the sale of land in the Upper Krishna Project to people of other states, Water Resources Minister K S Eshwarappa informed today.
Describing the order as ''unconstitutional,'' he told reporters here that no one could be banned from purchasing property in any part of the country. The order could be challenged in the court, he added.
The previous Dharam Singh government had imposed the ban following largescale purchase of land in the Krishna valley by people of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Eshwarappa announced that the Kalasa-Banduri Irrigation project would take off in October.
