ICC launches agri-business initiative

Kolkata, Aug 28: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) today launched the agri-business initiative a unique forum for food industry in West Bengal.

Apart from identifying bottlenecks hindering the growth of the food sector, the forum, formed with all stakeholders of the agro-sector, would enable private investment so that it becomes the prime mover of the processed food revolution, ICC secretary general Nazeeb Arif said.

The project was inugurated in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

All the segments of the industry like growers, cold storage owners, processors, equipment providers, retailers, food service operators and logistic providers would be part of the forum.
