VB recommends cases against 7 gazetted officers

Chandigarh, Aug 27 (UNI) Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has recommended registration of criminal cases against seven gazetted officers, 112 officials and 36 others found guilty in the enquiries conducted by the Bureau from April to June 2006.

A spokesman of the Bureau said that it also recommended recovery of over Rs 64,000 and registration of cases and departmental action against the defaulters.

The Bureau had also caught 63 officials red handed during the same period accepting illegal gratification ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 14,000.

During the special checking of the state roadways buses as many as 428 buses were checked and 247 passengers were found travelling without tickets. A fine of Rs 25,600 was imposed as penalty on ticket less travellers and 45 private vehicles were impounded and 99 challaned.
