Taj Hotels get Top Co Award in hospitality sector

New Delhi, Aug 27: Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, a part of the Tata Group, have bagged the Top Company Award in the hospitality sector at the Dun&Bradstreet (D&B) American Express Corporate Award 2006.

The base universe of the companies considered for the D&B award were the top 500 companies of India as covered under the publication.

The seven parameters considered in ranking companies for the awards were total income, net profit, net worth, net profit margin, net profit growth in total income and growth in net profit.

''This award reinforces our commitment to provide the very best in hospitality, service and experience. Our strength to compete and commitment towards quality and efficiency has helped us get this top award,'' Taj Hotels Senior VP (Sales&Marketing) Ajoy Misra said, who received the award on behalf of the company.

Established in 1903, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces are one of Asia's largest group of hotels, with 59 hotels in 40 locations across India with an additional 17 international hotels in the Maldives, Mauritius, Malaysia, Seychelles, Australia, UK, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa, West Asia and the US.
