Siuman seeks apology from Dutch government
New Delhi, Aug 27: Former Union Minister Ramjilal Suman today urged the Centre to seek an apology from the Netherlands government for manhandling 12 Indians on board a North West aircraft on their way to Mumbai.
"It is a serious matter and this has happened for the first time in the history of civil aviation that passengers were harassed on the basis of their religious identity and impounded in the mid air," he said in a statement here.
The senior Parliamentarian said the apology from the Netherlands Ambassador in Delhi would not suffice.
He said the Indian government should seek an apology from the Netherlands government and get an assurance that such incidents would not recur in future.
