Pranab calls for Bangladesh intervention

Kolkata, Aug 27 (UNI) Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee today urged the Bangladesh government to intervene in the inflitration issue in the North eastern states in order to stop ISI-sponsored terrorism in India.

Speaking at programme here, Mr Mukherjee said, '' The Centre will help the bordering states combat infiltration but the state police in West Bengal and NE states, should become more vigilant. '' To a query on the recent BSF-BDR clash, the Minister said, '' We have provided enough proof to the Bangladesh government to ban the ISI camps in that country, but they have not taken any action in this regard.
