Lucknow varsity students damages Proctor's office

Lucknow, Aug 26 (UNI) Students of Lucknow University today went on rampage and destroyed the Proctor's office against the arrest of a student leader here.

Police sources informed that a student leader Pawan Kumar against whom a case had been registered and was wanted by police was found sitting in dharna in the University premises demanding an increase in seats during the ongoing counseling.

After receiving the information, police arrested the student leader. In retaliation, students made hue and cry and damaged the Proctor's office.

Two policemen received injuries in the incident. Police forces has been stationed in the entire University premises looking after the tense situation prevailing there.

A case has been registered by the University administration against 150-200 students.
