Kidnapped boy from Pandharpur rescued
Kolhapur, Aug 27 (UNI) A five-and-a-half-year-old boy kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from Pandharpur has been successfully rescued within 22 hours in a joint operation carried out by the Solapur and Kolhapur police here today.
Kolhapur superintendent of Police Sukhwinder Singh and Solapur Deputy Superintedent of Police P R Patil said the three youth allegedly involved in the kidnapping, were arrested after being caught red-handed while accepting the ransom near a petrol pump on the city's outskirts here on Pune-Bangalore National Highway.
The BOY, identified as Akshaya, is the son of a government contractor Sadashiv Panditrao, police added.
The arrested have been identified as Satish Keshav Doiphode(20), Nitin Chavan(19) and Ganesh Gunjavane(27), residents of Pandharpur.
