Jhansi DC and eight other officials suspended
Lucknow, Aug 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today suspended Jhansi Divisional Commissoner, Jalaun Chief Development Officer and eight other senior officials for their alleged lethargic role towards implementing Girls's Vidyadhan scheme and dispensing unemployment allowances.
Mr Yadav took the decision after people of Jalaun registered their protest over the delay made in distributing cheques to the beneficiaries of unemployment allowances and Girls's Vidyadhan scheme.
Divisional Commissioner Jhansi Shankar Agrawal and Chief Development Officer Jalaun Bhaskar Upadhyaya were suspended from immediate effect.
In addition, District Service Scheme Officer Jalaun P P Mishra and Entertainment Tax officer Mansingh Verma were also arrested.
These schemes are in our priority and any kind of irregularities cannot be tolerated, said Mr Yadav.
