Hunger Marcher's Day observed in Manipur

Imphal, Aug 27: The 41st Hunger Marcher's Day, organised by All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), was observed today.

Floral tributes were paid at the memorial site at Pishumchingamacha near here.

The day is observed to pay tribute to Nilamani, Chaobal, Pramodini and Nabakumar, who died during the movement demanding rice in Manipur 41 years ago.

No rally was taken out to mark the occasion owing to blast at the ISKCON temple on August 16 last, in which five devotees were killed.
