Five drowned in Khagaria

Khagaria, Aug 27 (UNI) Five people, including four of a family, were drowned near Durgapur village under Mufassil police station area when a boat ferrying them capsized in river Ganges here today.

Police said that all the victims were crossing the river to collect fodder when the boat capsized midway. Five people died while 12 others swam to safety.

Divers had been pressed into service to fish out the bodies.
