Guwahati, Aug 27 (UNI) At a time when visually challenged Delhi's Diwakar is mesmerizing the nation with his voice at a popular singing competition, a few similarly challenged youth have taken on the ramp here.

In what the organisers claim to be the first-of-its-kind, several blind models walked the ramp in a fashion show at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre here last evening.

The blind models, mostly students from different parts of the state, were supported by professional models in showcasing young designer Himangshu Bora's creations.

The fashion show, which was slated at an earlier date but had to be rescheduled, had in its audience a match of cultural, social and political activists. The common man was also not far behind in joining in appreciating this noble venture as people flocked in large numbers to the free for all show.

The organizers, 'The Heaven', had announced that a part of the earnings from the fashion show would be used for the cause of the blind students.

Designer Bora maintained that the experience would inculcate confidence in the blind students, besides making them feel a part of the normal walk of life.
