45 killed as water tank collapses

Bharatpur, Aug 27 (UNI) Forty five people were killed and over thirty seriously injured as a water tank collapsed in Bharatpur district today.

According to Secretary, Relief and Disaster Management, R K Meena, the incident took place in the evening at Kotupper village.

He said the victims were watching a wrestling competition from atop the water tank.

He said about 250 people were watching the event from the top of the tank. Due to their weight, the tank collapsed, killing forty five people. He said 30 people were injured and some of them very seriously.
