Unite efforts to combat terrorism : Dasmunsi

Nadia, Aug 26 (UNI) All parties should join hands to combat terrorism in West Bengal, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said here today, a day after police uncovered a terror plot in Siliguri.

Speaking at a programme here, Mr Dasmunsi said West Bengal share porous borders with Nepal and Bangladesh increasing the risk of infiltration by terrorists.

State administration should stay prepared to combat the menace and the Centre will extend all possible help to them in this regard, the minister added.

Two IEDs kept in a plastic bag were recovered by securitymen today at Panitanki in Siliguri. In another incident five live bombs were unearthed and later defused in Malda.
