Two people arrested in connection with a murder case

Barrackpore, Aug 26 (UNI) At least two people, including an auto rikshaw driver, were produced before the court today after arresting them in connection with murder of a vegetable vendor of Sadarbazar under Barrackpore police station area in North 24 Parganas.

The victim was killed and his body, along with his bicycle, was dropped in the river Hooghly. His body was recovered after three days from the shore.

Fishermen fished out the cycle from the water, police said.

In another incident, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Barrackpore Gopal Karmakar today rejected the bail plea of a 59-year-old person, who was arrested along with his wife and daughter from Dum Dum in North 24 Parganas yesterday for allegedly abating his son-in-law for committing suicide.

The victim had reportedly committed suicide after he was insulted by his wife and in-laws.
