Third Greater Kashmir golf tournament tomorrow

Srinagar, Aug 26 (UNI) The Third Greater Kashmir Golf tournament will be held here tomorrow.

As many as 25 fourballs comprising prominent 100 players of Jammu and Kashmir will participate in the tournament to be played at the Kashmir Golf Club here.

Greater Kashmir, a leading English daily newspaper of the state, is hosting the tournament for the third consecutive time.

The newspaper group had for the first time in 2004 organised the tournament at the Kashmir Golf Club in which more than 100 players took part.

Last year, the tournament, held at the world famous tourist resort of Gulmarg, was won by Jammu and Kashmir. Chandigarh were declared the runners-up while the team from Delhi came third in the two-day tournament played on a triangular team event basis at the world's highest golf course.

About 84 leading amateur golfers of the country took part in the tournament last year held in Jammu and Kashmir after more than 20 years.
