Swami Ramdev hits out at Pepsi, Coke again
New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) Within a week of the government stating that charges of excess pesticides in Pepsi and Coke were without scientific basis, renowned Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev today said the cold drinks not only had harmful pesticides but other cancerous chemicals also with depleting effect on bones.
''Cold drinks do not give life, they give death,'' the Swami said here after his 45-day-long trip to London, where his camps were thronged not only by the Non-Resident Indians but also by the British.
The Swami said the soft drinks have a host of chemicals, harmful for pregnant women. Alternative drinks coming from juices of green vegetables should be introduced, he said.
The Swami, who has been running a campaign against the Multi-national companies engaged in taking drugs and pharmaceuticals and those producing cola drinks, said he did not relent even in his camps in the UK.
Asked about the controversy over Vande Matram, he said the issue was being raised by certain people for narrow political gains.
''Crores of patriotic Muslims and Hindus have been living together,'' he said.
The Swami also denounced the superstitions which led to the people rushing to temples to feed milk to Hindu gods idols. ''Changing of the sea water is a geo-graphical phenomenon,'' he said.
