Silver, gold flat on moderate demand
Mumbai, Aug 26 (UNI) Values of silver and gold remaiend flat on moderate demand, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association today said.
Silver .999 fineness variety opened low at Rs 19,250 per kg.
Later, it closed steady at Rs 19,260 per kg from its same level of previous close.
In London, silver was quoted at USD flat 12.40/12.42 per troy ounce, compared its last close of USD 12.40/12.42 per troy ounce in New York on Friday.
Similarly, standard gold (99.5) opened flat at Rs 9,425 per ten gm and closed at the same level at Rs 9,425 per ten gm.
Pure gold (99.9) also opened downwards at Rs 9,470 per ten gm and closed also steady at Rs 9,475 per ten gm from its same level of yesterday's level.
There was heavy profit-booking by stockists in both the precious metal in view of steady advice from overseas markets.
In London, the yellow metal also quoted flat at USD 620.40/623.00 per troy ounce, New York at its previous close.
Following were the spot silver and gold closing prices today: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 19,260(Rs 19,260), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,425 (Rs 9,425), Pure gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,475 (Rs 9,475).
