Shiv makes cut despite nightmarish back nine
Akron, Ohio, Aug 26 (UNI) Notwithstanding a nightmarish back nine, where he dropped as many as six shots without a birdie, Shiv Kapur managed to make the cut at the 7.5 million dollar Bridgestone Invitational European PGA Tour World Golf Championship here.
Shiv, who returned a poor five over 75 card yesterday, was lying at tied the 61st postion with and aggregate of seven over 145 in two rounds.
Meanwhile, World No one Tiger Woods roared and soared to the lead like only he could after carding a magnificient six under 64 in round two. Tiger, who won PGA Championship last week, survived a dramatic last hole bogey to move to the top with an aggregate of nine under 131.
A second hole birdie proved a deceptive for the Indian as things went from bad to worse for Shiv Kapur and no sooner than he made the turn the nightmare unfolded.
As if consecutive dropped shots on the 10th and 11th and then on the 13th and 14th were not enough, Shiv dropped a double bogey on the 16th to make the matter worse.
