Ruchi Soya sets up Rs 150 crore unit in Haldia
Haldia, Aug 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh based Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd has invested Rs 150 crore in setting up of a food processing complex at Haldia in West Bengal.
Company's chairman Kailash Shahra said here today that the food processing complex would manufacture oil from ricebran. Rs 1,200 crore company is engaged in producing soyabean oil, which is exported to overseas markets.
He said the company requires more land adjacent to its existing plant for more investments in the state. The unit would employ 700 people directly and 1000 indirectly.
Inaugurating the plant, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said the new plant would bridge the gap in edible oil in the state by producing oil from ricebran, which is in large supply here.
He requested the Haldia Development Authority to expedite land allocation to the company so that it can go ahead with its plans in biodiesel and palm oil sectors.
