Nokia Siemens Networks names Asia Pacific Head
New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) today fleshed out its business unit and named regional executives.
Mr Rajeev Suri, currently Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific for Nokia Networks, will lead the Asia Pacific region.
''We are making excellent progress in planning for the start of operations at Nokia Siemens Networks,'' future CEO of NSN, Simon Beresford-Wylie, said in a statement.
The appointment becomes effective immediately upon the closing of the merger between the two companies.
''The combined company -- NSN -- will have a world class fixed-mobile convergence capability, a complementary global base of customers, a deep presence in both developed and emerging markets, and of the industry's largest and most experienced service organisations,'' the two companies said.
While NSN will primarily address Europe from its Helsinki, Finland, headquarters, it will start operations in most major regions of the world by the first of January 2007, subject to customary regulatory approvals, the completion of standard closing conditions, and the agreement of a number of detailed implementation steps.
Siemens focuses on the areas of information and communications, automation and control, power, transportation, medical and lighting.
Nokia, on the other hand, is a world leader in mobile communications, and provides equipment, solutions and services for network operators and corporations.
