Niranjan Shah submits bank documents to Dalmiya
Kolkata, Aug 26 (UNI) Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Niranjan Shah today submitted the bank documents, as ordered by a city civil court here, to former Board chief Jagmohan Dalmiya.
''I have come here to submit the bank documents from the treasurer's office of BCCI,'' Mr Shah told reporters.
He also expressed hope that Mr Dalmiya would be satisfied with the papers and give his reply.
Earlier, City Civil Court Judge T K Sarkar had directed the BCCI counsel to furnish Mr Dalmiya with all the required documents by August 29. Mr Dalmiya was given time till September 8 to file his response.
After that the BCCI can go through the papers and decide whether a disciplinary committee would be formed, before which Mr Dalmiya would be called within seven days.
Mr Dalmiya had sought 2073 bank documents of which only 227 had been provided. The remaining 1800 odd documents would be provided tomorrow.
Mr Dalmiya has been showcaused by the BCCI for alleged misappropriation of funds from the PILCOM accounts.
He has, however, challenged the BCCI summons to appear before the BCCI Disciplinary Committtee and filed a case in the city civil court challenging the very decision and calling the formation of the Committee as 'premature.' UNI BA PL PDS RS1711
