Joshna leads eves to team Gold, men squash team gets Silver

Colombo, Aug 26 (UNI) Joshna Chinappa led from the front as Indian eves won the team Gold beating Sri Lanka 2-0 while the mens squad finished with the Silver after losing to formidable Pakistan in the final of the 10th SAF Games here this evening.

Joshna and Dipika Pallikal, winner of the Gold and Silver medals in the individual events, took to the court for India today. In the first match, Joshna swept away Tehani Guruge 9-5, 9-2, 9-2 to fetch the lead while Dipika dropped a game before taming Nirasha Guruge 9-4, 8-10, 9-4, 9-4 to ensure the Gold.

In men's event, India had no real chance against fancied Pakistan.

Mansoor Zaman thrashed Gaurav Nandrajog 9-1, 9-1, 9-2 in the first match and then Amir Atlas Khan pounded Harinder Pal Sing Sandhu 9-4, 9-2, 9-0 to seal the issue.
