Fire at Dishman Pharma unit

Ahmedabad, Aug 26: A major fire broke out in a factory of Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Ltd, situated in Lodaria village of Sanand taluka on Bavla-Sanand highway here.

The fire broke out in a solvent unit of the plant late last night which was noticed only when heavy smoke began to spiral. Four Fire Brigade machines were pressed into the service to extinguish the fire and after 7-hour struggle, the fire was finally brought under control this morning, said Fire Brigade sources.

No loss of life has been reported. However, the damage to the factory is stated to extensive.
