Criminal arrested in Bihar

Sheikhpura, Aug 26 (UNI) A criminial, who was wanted for a longtime in connection with Pyarepur massacre, besides several other cases of loot and murder, was arrested from Shekhopur Sarai police station area in Sheikhpura district late last night.

Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha said here that acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Special Auxiliary Police and local police raided a hideout between Khalilchak and Onama village and arrested Mantu Singh.

The criminal, who was a terror in Nalanda and its surrounding areas, had engineered the Pyarepur massacre in which four people were killed on November 29, 2005, he added.

The criminal was handed over to Nalanda police where he was interrogated.
