Bangarpet receives 3 cm rain

Bangalore, Aug 26 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded here at 0830 hours today.

The monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Coastal Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall (cm) : Bangarpet 3; Indi, Yadgir, Chamarajnagara, Kolar, Bangalore City, Tumkur 2 each; Shorapur, Madikeri, Pandavapura, Srirangapatna, Kolar PTO, Mulbagal, Bangalore airport, Nelamanagala one each.

Forecast valid until the Monday morning : Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers forecast : Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Kolar, Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajnagara districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the State.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Increase in rainfall is expected over Interior Karnataka and no significant change is expected over Coastal Karnataka.

Local forecast : Partly cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night.
