Accused remanded to judicial custody

Vijayawada, Aug 28 (UNI) The City Magistrate Court remanded Katragadda Srinivas, the prime accused in the Vangaveeti Santhan Kumar shoot out case, to 14-days judicial custody.

Mr Srinivas had surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh High Court yesterday and was brought here by a special police team from Hyderabad.

He was produced before the third metropolitan magistrate court this afternoon.

Mr Santhan Kumar, cousin of Vijayawada East MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna was brought to the city court on August 18 in a case relating to atrocities on SC and ST at Vuyyuru and he was shot at by some unknown assailants. He was seriously injured while his associate Vara Prasad was killed.

Police had registered a case against them.
