WB state sec Biman Basu criticises UPA foreign policy
Bangaon, Aug 25 (UNI) West Bengal state unit secretary of the CPI(M) Biman Basu today came down heavily on the UPA government for its foreign policy and said his party will vehemently oppose the Centre's stand in this regard.
Addressing the party workers here, the CPI(M) state secretary observed that the foreign policy adopted by the Manmohan Singh government had no differences with the BJP-led NDA government, which needed a 'drastic' change.
Mr Basu, however, was in favour of the UPA government's reservation policy and criticised the students, who are agitating against the reservation.
Such anti-reservation movement would not solve the issue, the CPI(M) leader said.
Mr Basu called upon the party workers to strengthen the party on the eve of the Bi-election of Bangaon assembly constituency to be held on September 16.
