'Vande Mataram' rallies by BJYM
Bhopal, Aug 25 (UNI) The BJYM's Madhya Pradesh unit will take out block-level 'Vande Mataram' rallies on September 7 -- the centenary of the recitation of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's immortal creation at the INC's Calcutta session by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.
''Morcha office-bearers and workers will take part in rallies at all 584 blocks in the state. It is unfortunate that some MPs are opposing the song despite its having been given due recognition by the Constitution. The BJYM will demand registering of criminal case against such parliamentarians,'' unit President Dhiraj Pateria said here yesterday.
Describing such a protest as a political stunt, BJP Minorities Front state President Kamalbhai Lalbhai added that every religion preached patriotism. ''Composer A R Rehman's 'Ma tujhe salaam' was hailed as a secular song by everyone. Islam preaches generosity and patriotism.'' UNI AG VJ BST0655
