UP government committed to development of Urdu language; CM

Lucknow, Aug 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the state government was committed to the development of the Urdu language and literature.

The Chief Minister added, ''the development of Hindi, Urdu and other regional languages are necessary for the prosperity and progress of the country.'' For promoting Urdu language, Urdu teachers had been appointed and other schemes and programmes were being implemented.

The Minister expressed these views, while releasing the 60th issue of Urdu monthly magazine 'Naya Daur' published by the information department.

He said 'Naya Daur' had a special place in the history of Urdu Magazine.

'Naya Daur' has recently published its Maluana Mohammad Ali Jauhar's issue.
