TRS demands govt introduce voting on Telangana in Assembly
Hyderabad, Aug 25 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) floor leader Vijaya Rama Rao today demanded that the government adopt a resolution on Telangana and vote on the issue in the Assembly.
Immediately after the house was adjourned, TRS MLAs led by their floor leader staged a dharna in front of the Speaker's chamber in the Assembly. Mr Rao later told mediapersons that the government should allow a debate on Telangana and adopt a resolution this session.
He alleged that the government was cheating the people of Telangana by saying sufficient money was allocated for development of the backward region. He demanded the government also conduct voting on Telangana to know how many members supported the separate state in the House.
Mr Rao said Telangana was a sentimental issue of three crore people living in the backward region and facing discrimination in all sectors for 50 years.
