Suicide in custody

Noida, Aug 25 (UNI) A 38-year-old man arrested in connection with a cheating case was killed when he set himself afire at the police station in Sector 39 here today, police said.

According to Superintendent of Police (City) Somit Yadav, Rajeev Kapoor of Delhi poured kerosene kept in the police station and lit himself afire this morning. He was rushed to the nearby Kailash hospital where he breathed his last.

Yadav, a resident of Delhi, was brought to the police station yesterday in connection with a case of cheating lodged against him by a man named Ravindranath Ahuja.

The guard on duty has been suspended.
