Services nuclear fuel-making units continue as public utility
New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) The services in Industrial Establishments manufacturing or producing nuclear fuel and components, heavy water and allied chemicals and atomic energy will continue as a public utility for another six months from tomorrow.
This has been done in public interest, the Labour Ministry said in a notification issued here today.
The employees in this industry, as a result, would be required to give notice to their employer six weeks in advance of proceeding on strike so that conciliatory proceedings could be started.
During the conciliatory proceedings and seven days after their completion, the employees cannot go on strike.
The Central Government had earlier declared the services in this industry as a public utility for six months from August 26, 2005 and subsequently extended the period for another six months from February 26, 2006.
