SC verdict - rebuff to LDF Govt: Mani

Kottayam, Aug 25 (UNI) Kerala Congress (M) leader K M Mani today described the Supreme Court verdict on self-financing college issue was a retaliation to the arrogant stance of the LDF Government.

In the light of the verdict the government should take immediate steps to remove the clause detrimental to the minority rights from the Kerala Professional Colleges Act and evolve a consensus on the fee and admission matters.

The CPI(M) and Education Minister M A Baby should refrain from making derogatory statements against the Bishops and spiritual leaders. There was no need for the CPI(M) or the minister to teach the Church and its leaders about social commitments, he said.
