MPSCW rescues woman
Bhopal, Aug 25 (UNI) A woman, who was locked in a house for three days and tortured by her husband, has been rescued from the state capital's Mata Mandir area at the initiative of the Madhya Pradesh State Commission for Women (MPSCW), police said.
On a tip-off that one Prakash Sharma had locked his wife, Mamta, in a house and used to brutally beat her every day. MPSCW member Rajo Malviya reached the accused's home and rescued the woman.
Later, she took the woman to the Mahila Police station. Police registered a dowry case against Prakash.
In her complaint, Mamta said since her marriage in September last year, she was being asked to bring Rs two lakh dowry and was beaten regularly.
Since the past three days, she was locked inside the house and brutally beaten.
The accused is absconding.
