Prez Kalam to visit Mizoram in November

Aizawl, Aug 25: President A P J Abdul Kalam is expected to visit Mizoram in November to attend the first convocation of the Mizoram University.

Official sources from Mizoram University today said that besides attending the university convocation, Dr Kalam is expected to lay the foundation stone for the proposed management and engineering department buildings in the campus.

This would be the President's second visit to the state.

Meanwhile, theDoNER ministry has already released Rs 15 crore for the proposed project in which the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) would be entrusted with the task of constructing the new department complex.

University Grant Commission chairman Dr P K Sinha is also expected to participate in the function, sources added.
