India reaches team final in squash
Colombo, Aug 25 (UNI) Joshna Chinappa led from the front as the Indian eves crushed minnows Nepal 3-0 to storm into the finals of the women squash team event at the Colombo Gymkhana Club here today.
In another semifinal, Sri Lanka upstaged Pakistan, beating the squash powerhouse 2-1.
Playing the first match against Chhitij Gurung, Joshna dropped just one point in the entire match and blanked her unheralded rival 9-0, 9-1, 9-0. Joshna thus remained in hunt for a Golden double after winning the individual Gold earlier.
In the second match, Vangala Anwesha Reddy also showed the same aggression as she decimated Krishna Thapa 9-0, 9-1, 9-0.
Surbhi Mishra maintained the momentum with a 9-4, 9-0, 9-0 annihiliation of Manida Shah as India bulldozed its way to the final.
