Heavy rains in eastern and northern MP
Bhopal, Aug 25 (UNI) With the southwest monsoon being active, eastern and northern Madhya Pradesh received heavy rainfall although its effect was less in other parts.
Fourteen districts in the state's eastern and northern parts have received less than average rainfall so far. The situation had improved with rainfall in the past two days.
The Met department forecast that the trend of rainfall in these parts would continue for now. Jabalpur and Rewa divisions would receive showers accompanied with lightning in the next 24 hours.
Several places in Jabalpur and Sagar divisions and some places in Rewa, Bhopal and Gwalior had received showers accompanied with lightning overnight.
Panna received maximum rainfall at 10 cm overnight, while chief amounts of rainfall were Katni (7), Lanji (5), Khajuraho (5), Shahdol (5), Jabalpur (4), Baihar (4), Naugaon (4), Mandala (3), Balaghat (3), Varaseoni (3) and Chhatarpur (3).
