Hearing adjourned on Lalu's petition

Patna, Aug 25 (UNI) The special CBI Judge of Patna, Muni Lal Paswan today adjourned the hearing on the discharge petition of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in the multi crore fodder scam till August 30 next.

Mr Prasad's counsel concluded his argument on the facts relating to the discharge petition. The hearing on the law points would be held on August 30. The case related to fradulent withdrawal of over Rs 46 lakhs from Banka and Bhagalpur treasuries.

Meanwhile, the hearing of the dispropotionate assets case, an off shoot of fodder scam, in which RJD MP R K Rana and his wife Naina Rana are accused, started in the same designated court. The CBI had produced its first witness in the court today.

According to the chargs, Dr Rana had amassed wealth over rupees two crore which was dispropotionate to his known sources of income.
