Grenade found in RRL

Jammu, Aug 25 (UNI) A live grenade was found inside the unit of the prestigious Regional Research Laboratory(RRL) near Canal road here yesterday, police sources said today.

They said that a labourer, who was working in an under construction site at RRL found the grenade and immediately reported the matter to the authorities, who in turn informed the police.

The police Incharge, Canal Head Parej Ahmed accompanied by the Station Head Officer(SHO) Nowabad Kulbir Handa rushed to the spot and informed the Bomb Disposal Squad(BDS).

The sources said that BDS reaching the spot defused the grenade, averting a major tragedy.
